SERS substrates from Nefer Ka, LLC enable molecular detection at ultra low concentrations (nano-molar detection demonstrated). They provide uniform and reproduceable measurements with ultra low background signal. A key advantage of Nefer Ka's SERS substrates is fluorescence quenching. Raman measurements of Rhodamine B and Rhodamine 6G using Nefer Ka's substrates exhibit minimal fluorescence.
Nefer Ka's SERS substrates consist of metallic nano caps that are situated at a distal end from a polymer and are fabricated using a patented technology that provides the following advantages over the competing products.
- A flexible SERS substrate that can be customized to any size or shape.
- Fluorescence quenching. The direct contact between the molecules and the metallic nano caps results in fluorescence quenching which permits the use of a shorter wavelength during the collection of a Raman spectrum.
- The fabrication process is compatible with ultra high manufacturing volumes.
- The placement of the nanocaps far from the carrier polymer greatly minimizes the background signal.
